AMC Short-range Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP)
MR Sussex Inlet is approved by the Australian Maritime College to assess for the Short-range Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP).
The SROCP course will enable participants to operate VHF marine radios for enclosed, inshore and near coastal operations. Course participants will gain:
- the ability to use correct marine radio operating procedures, in particular those relating to distress, urgency and safety messages for VHF including DSC (Digital Selective Calling);
- an understanding of simple maintenance practices required to keep their marine radio equipment in in good working order, including the repair of minor faults;
- an understanding of the regulations applicable to ship stations equipped with VHF radiotelephony and DSC facilities;
- an understanding of the regulations applicable to ship stations equipped with radiotelephony and digital selective calling facilities; and
- basic knowledge of the Australian marine search and rescue system.
Our course includes:
- A theory presentation of 4 hours covering the content that is tested in the knowledge test; and
- The knowledge assessment required in order to obtain your certificate.
The cost of the training and assessment is $180.00 which includes the cost of the examination.
